Kunstbeskrivelse som gitt på museets nettsted (© - Thorvaldsens Museum - Thorvaldsens Museum)
Læssøe was a member of the circle around Lundbye. With this composition he is particularly close to Lundbye’s Dolmen at Raklev, Røsnæs, which is in the possession of the museum. In Læssøe, the burial mound has been replaced by the high-lying Valløby Church in southern Zealand. The church looks as though it stands alone, but that was not so in reality. The motif is simply seen from the south-east and is cut by the artist in such a way that the village to which it belongs falls outside the left edge of the picture. This is an extremely dramatic picture. There is a contention between light and dark. On the right the sun is shining over Køge Bay – on the left sombre clouds are producing a brilliant rainbow. With its tower and its typical Renaissance gable shining in the rays of the rising sun against a background of a dark sky, the church acts as a kind of shelter for the light – a fortress of light and faith.

Vi tilbyr en rekke forskjellige materialer og størrelser for hvert produkt. Følgende størrelser og materialer er alternativene vi tilbyr deg for individualisering:
- Lerret: A canvas print, which shall not be mistaken with a real painting on a canvas, is a digital replica printed directly on canvas. A printed canvas of your favorite artwork will give you the opportunity of transforming your fine art print into a large size artwork like you would see in a gallery. Canvas prints are relatively low in weight, which implies that it is quite simple to hang the Canvas print without the support of extra wall-mounts. A canvas print is suitable for any type of wall.
- Metall (aluminium dibond trykk): An Aluminium Dibond print is a material with an impressive effect of depth. The Aluminium Dibond Print is your best introduction to the sophisticated world of art replicas with aluminum. The bright parts of the original work of art shine with a silky gloss but without the glow.
- Akrylglasstrykk (med ekte glassbelegg): An acrylic glass print, which is sometimes labelled as a print on plexiglass, will convert your chosen original work of art into great décor. The work of art is printed with state-of-the-art UV printing machines. Our acrylic glass protects your custom art print against light and external influences for between four and 6 decades.
- Plakatutskrift (lerretmateriale): The poster is a printed canvas with a fine surface finish. Please bear in mind, that depending on the size of the poster print we add a white margin 2-6cm round about the artwork, which facilitates the framing with your custom frame.
